The clock was designed for Object Permanence, Edition 5, a quarterly exhibition series created to highlight Los Angeles design talent. One-way mirror
The one way mirror is reflective on one side and transparent on the other. This effect occurs when one side is brightly lit while the other remains dark. When illuminated, fragments of broken glass catch and scatter the light, creating a dynamic, layered reflection.
As the light fades, the image disappears and the viewer is left only with their own reflection. The broken glass casts shifting shadows across this fading surface, echoing the movement of thoughts and the way perception changes over time. Like shadows, thoughts pass and dissolve, leaving behind a sense of stillness and self awareness.
